Use AxioPlan from Claude

Connect AxioPlan to Claude and work on your plans in plain English — timelines, estimates, cost and staffing — without opening the app. New to it? See project management in Claude for an overview of what the connector can do.

AxioPlan publishes a connector (a remote MCP server) that Claude can talk to on your behalf. Once you have connected it and signed in, Claude can read your projects, answer questions about them, and — if you allow it — make the changes you ask for:

“What's on the critical path in my Q3 migration project?”
“What's the P85 estimate, and what would it cost?”
“If I let it hire as needed, when does the project actually finish?”
“Which tasks have no one assigned?”
“Add a two-week hardening phase before launch and put Ana on it.”
“Push everything after the API work out by a week.”

You choose how much it can do. When you connect, AxioPlan asks whether Claude may only read your projects, also change them, or also delete whole projects. Reading is always included; the rest is up to you, and you can change your mind by disconnecting and adding the connector again.

Before you start

An AxioPlan Pro subscription. The connector is a Pro feature. You can add it on the free plan, but its answers will just point you at the upgrade page.
Claude Desktop, or Claude on the web. Custom connectors are available on the Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.

Add the connector

In AxioPlan, open Connections and copy the connector URL.
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
Paste the URL and confirm.
Claude opens AxioPlan in your browser. Sign in if you are not already, then review what is being requested and choose Allow access.
Back in Claude, enable AxioPlan for a conversation using the + button.

Why does it open a browser? So that your AxioPlan password and session never pass through Claude. Claude receives only a scoped token that you can revoke at any time.

Ask Claude

Start by asking Claude to list your projects — that is how it learns which projects exist. From there you can ask about any of them by name.

Claude does not know your project ids up front, so a question like “how long will the migration take?” will usually make it list your projects first. That is expected.

When you ask for a change, Claude makes it straight away — there is no draft to approve inside AxioPlan and no undo, so it is worth being specific about what you want. Claude will normally tell you exactly what it changed.

What Claude can see

Capability	What it returns
List projects	Every project you own or that has been shared with you, with deadlines.
Read a project	Tasks with dates, durations, progress, status, dependencies and assignees, plus epics, roles and the team roster.
Effort and cost estimates	P50 / P85 / P95 hours and cost from the same PERT model as the Summary screen, with a per-role breakdown.
Simulate a schedule	Runs the allocation engine and reports the resulting timeline, utilisation, suggested hires and deadline risk. Changes nothing.

What Claude can change

Only if you allowed it when connecting, and only on projects you own — a project shared with you stays read-only.

Capability	What it does
Tasks	Add, edit and delete tasks: titles, dates, durations, estimates, progress, status, and which epic and role they belong to.
Dependencies and assignments	Set what a task waits on and who works on it. Circular dependencies are refused.
Epics, roles and team	Add, rename and remove epics, billable roles with their hourly rates, and team members with their roles and availability.
Projects	Rename a project, change its deadline, and create new ones — from scratch or from a template.
Delete a whole project	Separate permission, off by default. Irreversible, and Claude must repeat the project's exact name to do it.

Editing in both places at once. If you have a project open in AxioPlan with unsaved changes while Claude edits it, your next save is refused rather than overwriting Claude's work. AxioPlan tells you the project changed and offers to reload it.

Security and privacy

You authorise explicitly. Access is granted through a standard OAuth flow with a consent screen that names the application asking.
You pick the permissions. The consent screen lists reading, changing and deleting separately, and grants exactly what you tick. Permissions are fixed for the life of a connection — to change them, disconnect and add the connector again.
Owner-only for changes. Claude can read projects shared with you, but only their owner can change them.
Scoped to your account. Claude sees exactly the projects you can see in AxioPlan, and nothing belonging to anyone else.
Short-lived credentials. Access tokens expire after an hour and are stored only as hashes.
Application names are not verified. Anyone can build a connector client, so the consent screen shows the name the application chose for itself. Only approve a request you started yourself.

Disconnecting

Open Connections in AxioPlan and choose Revoke next to the application. Access stops immediately — the next request Claude makes will fail and it will have to be authorised again from scratch.

Troubleshooting

Claude says it needs AxioPlan Pro. The account you authorised is on the free plan. Upgrade in Billing — you do not need to reconnect afterwards.
Claude cannot find a project. Ask it to list your projects again. If a project is missing, check you are signed in to the right AxioPlan account.
Claude asks you to sign in repeatedly. The connection was probably revoked. Remove the connector in Claude and add it again.
